What to expect

Your first visit to Penshurst Eyecare will take approximately 40–60 minutes and includes a warm welcome and thorough introduction to our clinic. Our optometrist will take the time to understand your lifestyle, vision needs, and any concerns you may have, ensuring a personalised and comfortable experience.

During your appointment, we will assess your vision and eye health using advanced diagnostic tools, including retinal photography and OCT imaging, which are included at no extra cost. If further testing is recommended, such as a dilated eye exam or additional assessments. We will explain the purpose, process, and any relevant fees, with the option to book a follow-up visit.

Should you need glasses, our experienced team will guide you through our curated range of quality frames to help you find the perfect fit.

Appointment Policy

Late Arrival

We understand that things don’t always go to plan. If you arrive late to your appointment, we may need to reschedule to ensure each patient receives the time and care they deserve.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. While we don’t charge a cancellation fee, we appreciate your consideration in giving us enough notice.

Cycloplegic Examination (For kids)

Why is a cycloplegic examination recommended for children?

A cycloplegic eye exam provides a more accurate assessment of your child’s focusing ability and prescription by temporarily relaxing the eye muscles.

After the exam, your child may experience blurred near vision and light sensitivity for several hours.

To reduce any disruption, we suggest booking the appointment after school or when your child can take it easy for the rest of the day.
